Step into the glamour of the Riviera at Casino Royal Gala: A Night in Monte Carlo—an elegant evening of high-roller hors d’oeuvres, a classic martini bar, and lively casino-style gaming tables. The event will be held at The Lodge at Old Mill on April 18, 2026.

Please join us on Thursday, March 5 at the Beach Club for a presentation on the history of Noontootla Creek Farms and the Noontootla Conservation Initiative, established by Emily Owenby, a fourth-generation member of the Owenby family.
Noontootla Creek Farms is renowned for its quality trout water and exceptional quail hunting opportunities. Situated in North Georgia, near Ellijay, Blue Ridge, and Blairsville, this private farm encompasses 1,500 acres. In 2005, the farm opened to the public, providing lodging, fly fishing, sporting clays, as well as quail and pheasant hunts.
Emily Owenby was raised on the farm and brings a distinctive understanding of Noontootla Creek’s environment to her role as a guide. She emphasizes proper technique and actively encourages her clients to approach fly fishing with a conservation mindset.
Demonstrating a commitment to environmental stewardship, Emily established the Noontootla Conservation Initiative, a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving and protecting the Noontootla watershed for future generations.
The meeting will be held at the Beach Club with social time beginning at 5:00pm and the meeting at 5:30pm.

Discover what being a sports anchor is really like behind the scenes!
The Club is excited to have Bill Hartman as the guest speaker on Thursday evening at the Clubhouse-Overlook.
Bill Hartman’s television journey began in 1970 as a 21-year-old sports anchor for Fox 5, and he retired from full-time broadcasting in 2008. During his career, he reported on Super Bowls, World Series, and Olympic Games.
Hartman knows a thing or two having played for Athens High School in the 1960s as a left-handed quarterback on the JV team, but he said he knew he’d never made QB for the varsity team. Instead, he took that same passion and turned it into a life-long career of reporting.
In 1965, he started working for the Athens Banner-Herald in the fall of his senior year of high school covering his team. He eventually got picked up by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution as a freshman enrolled at Georgia.
Eventually, Hartman migrated to radio where he honed his now-classic cadence and started to build his rapport with area high school coaches.
After 35 years at FOX 5 he retired from regular broadcasting but couldn’t resist returning to cover Friday night games. The following season, he joined the High 5 Sports team as the Game of the Week reporter, mentioning that he enjoys this role more than covering NFL or college football.
In 2012, Hartman was honored with induction into the Atlanta Sports Hall of Fame.
Social time begins at 5:00pm with the formal meeting at 5:30pm.

Welcome to our District Governor, Jessica Fleetwood, as our special guest.
The Rotary 4-Way Test is a simple yet profound ethical guide for decision-making and personal conduct. It consists of four questions: "Is it the truth? Is it fair to all concerned? Will it build goodwill and better friendships? Will it be beneficial to all concerned?" These questions encourage honesty, fairness, and consideration for others in every action or decision. Created in 1932 by Herbert J. Taylor, the test was adopted by Rotary International in 1943 as a cornerstone of its values
The test helps individuals and organizations evaluate the ethical implications of their choices. It fosters trust, understanding, and collaboration, strengthening relationships and communities. Its universal principles make it applicable across cultures, professions, and personal situations. The 4-Way Test is a timeless tool for promoting integrity and positive change in the world by focusing on truth, fairness, goodwill, and mutual benefit.

The Rotary Club of Big Canoe is dedicated to serving our community through impactful projects, leadership, and volunteerism. Guided by the principles of integrity, fellowship, and service above self, we strive to create meaningful change both locally and globally. Through collaboration and commitment, we aim to support initiatives that enhance education, health, and community well-being for a brighter future.

The Rotary Club of Big Canoe is a community that represents different professions, experiences, and perspectives but also shares a desire to connect with others to address the challenges affecting our community and communities worldwide.

The Rotary Club of Big Canoe demonstrated its commitment to community support by presenting an $8,000 check to the Pickens County Weekend Snack Program. This donation will help provide essential food supplies to children in need, ensuring they have access to nutritious snacks over the weekends. The program plays a crucial role in combating hunger and supporting the well-being of local families. The Rotary Club’s contribution reflects its dedication to making a positive and lasting impact on the community.

Our Club offers opportunities for our members – and those interested in making a difference – to get involved. Through our club meetings, social events, and volunteer projects, our members learn about the issues facing our community and communities worldwide, partnering with local, national, and global experts to exchange ideas about potential solutions and draw up action plans to respond. Along with these opportunities to serve, members can regularly network, resulting in lifelong friendships and business connections.

The Rotary Club of Big Canoe dedicates its efforts to impactful community projects, focusing on education, health, and community engagement and relief efforts. We provide scholarships to deserving students, host food drives to support families in need, and collect home medical equipment. Through these programs, our club enhances the quality of life and fosters a spirit of service in the community.
